Broken headstock Mayson

Another broken headstock fixed! Although the client came into our shop with – what supposed to be – a fine sounding and good looking guitar, we immediately saw how fragile the neck was built. Very easy to break, which unfortunately happened.

Of course you don’t ever want it to break again… that’s why we routed out a cavity to install an ebony piece into the length of the neck. On top of the ebony piece we made a thin layer of mahogany to match the neck. Sanded it smooth, matched the colour with red mahogany stain and then partially sprayed it. After that we buffed it to a nice shine.
